Responding to Requests From City Staff

Beyond operating the Camp, Board members and Camp Members:

  • Respond to requests from city staff, emergency services personnel (police, fire, medical), local businesses, and others to address issues connected to those experiencing homelessness.
  • Meet with people experiencing homelessness where they are to build trusting relationships and connect them to resources and support. This is done by frequenting libraries, parks, underpasses, green spaces, malls, street corners—any place where people experiencing homelessness can be found.
  • Building relationships with city staff, emergency services personnel (police, fire, medical), local businesses, library staff, community residents, Community organizations and others who are interacting with, and impacted by, homelessness in the wider community to increase understanding about homelessness to meet needs and to advocate for practical, lasting solutions to homelessness.
