CUWS Innovates and Progress with Time
Prior to 2022 Tents and Tarps on the ground or on wooden pallets.
Mold and mildew shorten use and increased health risks
After 2022 the above have been replaced with canopy tents that will house two smaller tents for single or one large tents for couples. Tents are on treated plywood sheets mounted on 2x4’s. These are dryer, more stable and sturdier.
As of 2023, CUWS has a mobile shower which was constructed by camp members and volunteers. Propane tank provides instant hot water and a solar panel provides electric lighting. Campers check out key and towels at the office trailer and are held accountable for keeping the shower clean and reporting any damage.
The Kitchen Pantry was constructed by volunteers in 2022 but requires a skid loader to transport. It does provide secure storage for food and a refrigerator and a freezer.
